Serielizados 2026 -13 Barcelona Series Festival

STEVEN MOFFAT, INTERNATIONAL GUEST AT THE 13th SERIELIZADOS

The Scottish screenwriter, creator of ‘Sherlock’ and legendary showrunner of ‘Doctor Who’, will attend the festival accompanied by Sue Vertue, producer of his series and of one of British television’s most iconic titles: ‘Mr. Bean’.

Steven Moffat will be one of the festival’s main international guests. The Scottish screenwriter has an extensive career in British television and is especially well-known for being the creator of Sherlock (2010-2017), the BBC series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman that offered a reimagining of the classic character created by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Moffat was also the showrunner for several years of Doctor Who, one of the most emblematic series in British science fiction. His work as a creator and screenwriter also includes the sitcom Coupling (2000-2004), miniseries such as Jekyll (2007) and Dracula (2020), or the satire Douglas Is Cancelled (2024), one of his most recent titles. His career also extends to film, where he co-wrote The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (2011), directed by Steven Spielberg.

Watch out! – The first tickets and passes for Serielizados 2026 are now on sale.

Serielizados will open with ‘In Vitro’ (3Cat and HBO Max), by Marc Crehuet and Alejandra Guimerà, and will close with ‘Episòdic: El principi d’Arquimedes’ (betevé). In addition, the series ‘Segunda temporada’ (Filmin), by Miguel Ángel Blanca, written by himself along with Berta Prieto and Víctor Diago, will premiere in competition.

The festival will celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Nissaga de poder’ (3Cat) with the presence of Emma Vilarasau, Jordi Bosch, and Lluís Arcarazo, among others. It will also feature a new session of ‘Literaturium de series’, a comedy podcast with Àlex Martínez Vidal, Tomàs Fuentes, Ignasi Taltavull, and Enzo Vizcaíno.

Serielizados focuses the campaign of its 13th edition on the importance of cultural curation. Under the slogan Watch out, it aims to highlight the filtering and curatorial work carried out by the festival’s programming team at a time of great abundance of series, when it is becoming increasingly difficult to find truly exciting and unique titles.

The 13th edition of Serielizados – Barcelona Series Festival will take place from October 19 to 28 at the CCCB, Mooby Aribau cinemas, Phenomena Experience hall, and Casa Cupra. New titles, guests, and activities will be announced in September.

The first announced sessions for the 13th Serielizados – Barcelona International Series Festival programming, as well as the FAN pass (early bird), are already on sale on our website.
