Following last year’s success, Serielizados announces the second edition of Mind the Gap, the international pitch for series co-productions designed to help projects cover the final stretch of their financing, granting them international visibility and promoting European co-productions and international sales.
Mind the Gap is supported by the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (Generalitat de Catalunya) Tríodos Bank and the Fundación SGAE. Collaborating with this initiative are Konga Music Agency, Sarao Music, ECAM (School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid), Seriencamp e Iberseries & Platino Industria.
The project submission period is now open and closes on August 17th at 23:59h (CEST).
From the projects submitted, 11 will be selected (one more than last year) to participate in this pitch before audiovisual industry professionals. They will receive questions and feedback from an international Jury made up of commissioners, sales agents, and executives from European networks and platforms.
The Jury will select a winning project, which will receive a €5,500 prize with the support of Tríodos Banc and Fundación SGAE. Additionally, Konga Music Agency will award a prize valued at €2,000 among the Spanish projects to use music from Konga Music Agency’s Production Music catalog. After the pitch, all participating projects will have the opportunity to hold one-to-one meetings with the Jury, scheduled by the organization, and will receive two professional accreditations for the festival. Projects from production companies outside of Catalonia will also have a hotel room at their disposal for the nights of October 21st and 22nd.
The pitch will take place on October 21st at the headquarters of the Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) in Catalonia and is included within the activities of Serielizados PRO, the industry section of Serielizados – Barcelona Series Festival 2026. The festival will be held this year between October 19th and 28th.
The call is open to production companies legally established as corporate entities. Out of the 11 participating projects in the pitch, 8 will be chosen from this open call by a committee of screenwriters and script analysts appointed by the organization. As a minimum requirement, at least one of the selected projects must feature an SGAE member in the screenwriting or directing roles.
The remaining 3 projects will be selected from participants in the Seriencamp Co-Production Pitch, ECAM Forum, and Iberseries & Platino Industria. Projects should ideally be represented by a creative duo consisting of a screenwriter and a producer.
The initiative is looking for first seasons of high-quality series or miniseries, with a minimum of 3 episodes and a minimum duration of 26 minutes per episode. Projects must be in development or pre-production. Ideally, they should have part of their financing secured and a network, platform, or distributor attached. Furthermore, the series must be suitable for co-production, and only fiction series projects will be accepted (children’s content, animation, and documentaries are excluded).
