Serielizados screens this docuseries created by J.A. Bayona and Carlos Torres. A moving proposal that analyzes the Andes tragedy in depth.
Coinciding with the global success and impact of Society of the Snow (premiered at the Venice Film Festival, winner of twelve Goya Awards, and nominated for two Academy Awards), this production begins where the acclaimed feature film ends to analyze the complex human experience following the rescue in the Andes.
Directed by Carlos Torres and produced by J.A. Bayona, Sandra Hermida, and Belén Atienza, the documentary series addresses a key question: how do you rebuild a life after a tragedy like this? While silence settled among the protagonists and the rest of the world attempted to understand what had happened through books and films, the most difficult challenge began for them and for the families of the deceased. For the first time, the docuseries gathers the intersecting testimonies of the accident’s survivors and the families of those who did not return, constructing an unprecedented, ethical, and essential ensemble narrative about memory, grief, and the unbreakable bonds forged on the mountain.
The project is completed with contributions from authors Piers Paul Read (Alive) and Pablo Vierci (Society of the Snow), as well as reflections from filmmakers who have brought this story to the big screen, including Frank Marshall (Alive) and J.A. Bayona himself. A rigorous and deeply human look at one of the most impactful episodes of the 20th century.
