Steven Moffat, creator of the legendary 'Sherlock' and showrunner of 'Doctor Who', will offer a masterclass discussing his career alongside producer Sue Vertue as part of Serielizados PRO activities.
Steven Moffat is one of the featured international guests at the Serielizados festival. Creator of such landmark series as Sherlock, and showrunner of Doctor Who –both BBC productions–, Moffat will give a masterclass as part of the activities of Serielizados PRO, the industry section of Serielizados. In the masterclass, Moffat will talk about his extensive career as a creator from a technical and creative standpoint, specifically aimed at professionals in the audiovisual sector alongside British television producer, Sue Vertue (Mr. Bean, Coupling).
Sherlock is considered a global phenomenon and one of the most brilliant adaptations in recent television. Originally broadcast between 2010 and 2017, the series garnered major critical and audience success, winning 9 Emmy Awards (including Best Writing for Moffat himself) and a prestigious BAFTA for Best Drama Series. Meanwhile, Moffat led the modern era of the iconic sci-fi series Doctor Who as showrunner and head writer, a production that under his leadership reached historic levels of international popularity alongside the Doctors portrayed by Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi.
Moffat started in television with the acclaimed youth drama Press Gang, consolidated his success in auteur comedy with the iconic sitcom Coupling, and has also stood out as the creator of recent projects such as Inside Man for BBC and Netflix, the horror miniseries Dracula, the adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife for HBO, and co-writing the screenplay for the animated film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, directed by Steven Spielberg.
