After its screening at the the Venice Film Festival and its euphoric reception at the Sitges Film Festival, the praised first season of 30 monedas will make its return to the big screen at the Serielizados Fest and will be attended by Álex de la Iglesia.
Yes, you read that right, Álex de la Iglesia is coming to Serielizados Fest Barcelona. And, considering that the premiere of the second season of 30 monedas will arrive in October this year (just in time for Halloween!), what better way to warm up and get ready to fight the forces of evil than doing a marathon of the first season? In addition, the master of horror will offer a half marathon colloquium where he will talk about the series and answer questions from the audience.
30 monedas is the perfect series for fans of the well-known filmmaker. A series that invites us to let our imagination fly and get on board of a divertimento that is not ashamed of being so. An adventure of a lifetime in which its director shuns transcendence and devotes himself to play and fantasize in an exercise of overflowing imagination supported by a magnificent cast and spectacular images, where horror, thriller, fantasy and mystery merge into a meaningful embrace.
In 30 Momendas, the director of El día de la bestia, Balada triste de trompeta or Las brujas de Zugarramudi, tells us about the eternal struggle between Good and Evil to get the 30 silver coins that Judas received when he betrayed Jesus. These coins, once collected, can grant unlimited power to whoever possesses them.
Its protagonist, Father Vergara (Eduard Fernández), is an exorcist, boxer and ex-convict exiled by the Vatican to a parish in a remote village in Spain. When Vergara is linked to a series of paranormal phenomena occurring in the village, Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre), the naive mayor, and Elena (Megan Montaner), a restless veterinarian, try to unravel the secrets of his past and the meaning of the ancient coin that Vergara keeps hidden.
