‘The Agent: The Life and Lies of My Father’

Reality always surpasses fiction — and in the case of the protagonist of The Agent, even more so. This Norwegian docuseries, premiering at Serielizados after its award-winning run at Cannes Series, tells the story of Bjørn Hallstrøm, whose life could inspire several series and films. “I’m secretly a spy,” Bjørn Hallstrøm once told his son Didrik.

Now, three decades later and a father himself, Didrik Hallstrøm questions whether that childhood memory is real or not. Was his absent father really a secret agent, travelling the world on CIA missions? What seems like a small innocent game is slowly reconstructed into a long life of lies that the viewer uncovers alongside the protagonist.
