Serielizados Fest premieres ‘No me gusta conducir’, the new TNT original series created by film director and screenwriter Borja Cobeaga.
Inspired by the director’s own experience, No me gusta conducir tells the story of Pablo (Juan Diego Botto), a 40-year-old university professor, self-absorbed and grumpy, who is forced to get his driving license. Pablo is a know-it-all who, when he signs up for driving school, discovers that he still has a lot to learn.
As soon as he starts classes, he will meet Yolanda (Lucía Caraballo), one of his students at the university, with whom Pablo will establish a curious relationship: teacher and student at the faculty, desk mates at the driving school.
“I got my driver’s license, very late, at the age of 42, and everyone who heard about my late learning told me their own anecdotes or traumas from their driving school days. Either they got it as soon as they turned 18, or when they were older, after many attempts to control their nerves. All of them had a peculiar driving school teacher or an examiner who had a grudge against, them and they remember their driving school experience as an amazing source of stories to tell”, says Borja Cobeaga.
Borja Cobeaga (San Sebastian, 1977) is a screenwriter, filmmaker and director. His film debut was in 2001 with the short film La primera vez, which was nominated for the Goya awards. After working in television, in programs such as Vaya semanita, Splunge or Gran hermano, in 2005 he received a Oscar nomination for his short film Éramos pocos. In 2009 he released his first feature film, Pagafantas, which was followed by No controles, Negociador and Fe de etarras. And now he comes to Serielizados Fest with No me gusta conducir.
“TNT is becoming the channel of the best Spanish comedy series. Maricón perdido and the Juan Carrasco saga are original and funny, the type of series that bring audiences and critics together. That’s why I’m thrilled that the first series I’ve created is being made here”.
Premiere of the first three episodes.
Colloquium with the creative team of the series: Borja Cobeaga (director), Juan Diego Botto (actor), Lucía Caraballo (actress), Leonor Watling (actress) and David Lorente (actor).
