Serielizados Fest premieres in Spain this powerful Bosnian drama about a teenager’s suicide, school abuse, and the moral dilemma of a mother in search of the truth.
The Sarajevo prosecutor and single mother Nevena faces a case that hits very close to home: a teenager from the same school as her son Dino has committed suicide. Nevena attracts bad press when the deceased’s father criticizes the slowness of her investigation, but she receives little sympathy for the staff shortage in her department or for her impending divorce. Soon, Nevena discovers that the school may be hiding cases of abuse among its students, and, consumed by concern for Dino, she is completely shaken when the victim’s father accuses her son of being one of the abusers.
Driven by maternal love and her sense of moral responsibility, Nevena desperately seeks the truth in an increasingly hostile environment. She knows that in a society where justice is controlled by money and a male political elite, her only allies in the search for truth are a former lover and a new colleague who secretly reports to her superior. But this very pursuit of truth, which makes Nevena so good at her job, sets her against the son she fears she can no longer trust.
