Alan Ball, creator of series such as 'Six Feet Under' and 'True Blood', will offer a masterclass, in collaboration with ESCAC, as part of the Serielizados PRO activities.
Alan Ball is one of the highlighted international guests of the 12th Serielizados. Creator of highly acclaimed series like Six Feet Under and True Blood, both for HBO, he will lead a masterclass in collaboration with ESCAC (Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia) as part of the Serielizados PRO industry program.
In the masterclass, Ball will discuss his extensive career as a creator from a technical and creative perspective, especially aimed at audiovisual industry professionals. Six Feet Under is considered one of the best series in the history of the new golden age of television. Originally aired between 2001 and 2005, the series won over 60 awards, including 9 Emmys (including Best Directing for Alan Ball) and 3 Golden Globes, including Best Drama Series. He then created True Blood, which ran for seven seasons between 2008 and 2014. This supernatural drama, starring Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, and Alexander Skarsgård, explored the coexistence of humans and vampires in a small Louisiana town.
Ball began in television as a writer and producer of the sitcom Cybill, won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the film American Beauty, and has also stood out as producer of the series Banshee, creator of Here and Now, and director of the films My Uncle Frank and Towelhead (Nothing Is Private).
