Serielizados launches the call for entries for the Catalan-language Microseries Showcase

Serielizados and the Zoom Awards of Igualada, in collaboration with the Som EVA platform, have opened the call for entries for the 2026 Microseries Showcase, an initiative aimed at promoting the creation of audiovisual content in Catalan and giving visibility to new creators.
The call is aimed at fiction and documentary projects in microseries format, featuring episodes ranging from 30 seconds to 6 minutes in length. Proposals may be filmed using any type of camera or smartphone, or produced using any animation technique. Projects in vertical, horizontal, or square formats are accepted.
The initiative is open to individuals, collectives, schools, universities, and production companies that can legally certify authorship of the works, and submitted projects must be produced with at least 50% of their content in the Catalan language. Applications will remain open until July 31.
A window for emerging talent
The final selection of microseries will be screened during the 13th edition of Serielizados – Barcelona Series Festival. The projects will be selected by the festival’s programming team, and this year’s edition will take place from October 19 to 28. The screening offers a unique opportunity for creators to showcase their work to audiences.
The call allows both unpublished projects and works that have already been released to participate, although the organization will place special value on proposals that have been recently premiered or have not yet been publicly screened.
The Microseries Showcase will award two prizes:
- The EVA Award, which will be decided by professionals from the platform and will allow the selected project to participate in the content of the Som EVA community.
- And the Youth Jury Award, sponsored by AVisual PRO, which will be decided by a committee of young professionals linked to the audiovisual sector. The winning project will receive an equipment and/or studio rental voucher valued at 800 euros to develop future audiovisual projects. There will also be another prize that will be announced at a later date.
The awards will be officially presented during the Zoom Awards Gala in Igualada, which will take place on November 21, 2026, at the Ateneu Municipal Theatre of Igualada.
A growing community
In recent years, the Showcase and its related activities have featured the participation of renowned creators from the digital and audiovisual fields. Among them are Rafillo, Borja Pakrolsky, Alex Ayres, Sandra Flores, Cintia Ballbè, Alejo Levis, Emma Soler, Santa Penya, Norbert Palazón and Christian Flores.
With this call, Serielizados, the Zoom Awards and EVA reaffirm their commitment to promoting emerging talent and strengthening a Catalan-language creative ecosystem adapted to new formats and ways of engaging with audiovisual culture.
