Serielizados Fest Barcelona premieres El otro lado, the new original series of Movistar Plus+, with the presence of its creator, Berto Romero and Andreu Buenafuente.
Berto Romero takes on the horror genre with El otro lado, a Movistar Plus+ original series in collaboration with El Terrat (The Mediapro Studio), directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera and Alberto de Toro, where the well-known comedian acts as creator, screenwriter and star.
In El otro lado Romero gives life to Nacho Nieto, a journalist specializing in the paranormal who is going through his worst professional and personal moment. After a failed suicide attempt, he comes back to life accompanied by the ghost of his mentor, Dr. Estrada, a mythical mystery communicator who died more than 20 years ago. At that moment a virulent poltergeist case in an apartment in the outskirts of Barcelona, in Cardenal Cardona street, crosses his life, perhaps the most important paranormal case in recent years. Nacho goes to the apartment of the phenomena, where Eva and Rubén live, accompanied by the spirit of his mentor, and helped by Juana, his right hand in his old radio program.
Mientras Nacho desenreda el misterio de esa casa se enfrentará a un oscuro secreto de su pasado. Un secreto que le relaciona directamente con Gorka Romero, quien fue su compañero de investigaciones, y que ahora es el referente del periodismo del misterio en España.

Romero (Mira lo que has hecho, El Pregón, Tiempo después) heads the main cast completed by Eva Ugarte (Mira lo que has hecho, El juego de las llaves), Andreu Buenafuente (El Pregón, Tiempo después), María Botto (Código emperador, Malnazidos), Nacho Vigalondo (Veneno, Colossal, Open Windows), Albert García (Rebooted), María Pascual (Amor de cans) and Hugo Morenilla (Campamento Newton, Un hombre de acción).
“From the genesis of the project, El otro lado is a series that is trying to find a very particular balance between comedy and horror. This balance between the two genres is very determined, with a very specific tone as well. At the same time, we believe that the way in which the project has been approached is not very well seen” commented its creator.
