This series unveils with unpublished images the amazing story of “The Spanish Niño Lama”, with a subsequent discussion with Osel himself.
Serielizados Fest will host the preview of Osel, an incredible documentary series about the story of the event that shocked the world in 1986, when a boy from the Alpujarra was recognized as the reincarnation of a Tibetan lama. Osel himself will offer a colloquium after the premiere together with the director of the series, Lucas Figueroa.
Transferred to India for his enthronement and training, what nobody expected was that when he turned eighteen, the ‘reincarnated’ young man would change his silent Buddhist monastery for the Ibiza nightlife, entering fully into a world open to experimentation.
The series, shot over 5 years, has been filmed in South America, Europe, North America and Asia, and is developed in 4 languages (Spanish, English, Italian and Tibetan). Some may remember a movie from the 90’s that was inspired by this case: Little Buddha, directed by Bernardo Bertolucci and starring a beardless Keanu Reeves. But now we have the real story.
The production company is Mr. Monkey, a specialized company in the creation of IPs for the international market, in association with New Frequency, a production company specializing in premium documentary content. The series has been acquired by HBO Max.
