Serielizados Fest premieres in Spain, Unsilenced, an Israeli series inspired by real events about sexual harassment and abuse of power.
Set in the early 2000s (before the #MeToo movement), Unsilenced begins its story when the newly elected president of Israel begins harassing Oshrat, a new female member of his staff. Desperate to keep her job, Oshrat asks the president’s chief of staff for help, but he becomes complicit by ignoring her allegations and designing a campaign to discredit her and keep her quiet.
A chilling and enlightening chronicle of what a man (and his allies) in a position of power is capable of doing to silence his victims, protect himself and keep his crimes out of the public eye.
Inspired by Odelia Carmon’s novel The Confidante, Unsilenced is a series about a time when women who were brave enough to speak out were rarely believed, were considered crazy and risked losing everything.
Original version (Hebrew) with Spanish and Catalan subtitles.
Run time: 50 minutes.
