After discovering a dead body in the National Museum of Sarajevo, inspectors Edib and Mido are called to the crime scene. But the body’s disappearance and the museum’s ulterior motives lead them to a web of corruption and international crime.
Even before the forensic experts can provide answers, the body disappears, as does the museum’s most valuable artefact, the Haggadah. The questions become overwhelming. Who could have an interest in stealing this inalienable holy scripture? Why does Ajla, the investigative journalist at the crime scene, encounter superior obstacles? And what role does Senci, Edib’s inscrutable comrade-in-war, released from prison that very day, play?
Grief-stricken, Edib must muster all his strength to unravel a web of secrets, ulterior motives, corruption, and international crime in this textbook neo-noir from Bosnia.
