Serielizados Fest premieres in Spain, Chanshi, the story of a girl from the Jewish community who emigrates to Israel and embarks on a crazy journey of self-discovery.
Like other young women in her Brooklyn Jewish community, Chanshi is on the right track. Engaged to a great guy she barely knows, she will play the role of a good wife and give birth to at least six children. Basically, she’s about to become a walking womb. But unlike her conformist companions, Chanshi carries with her a fantasy that good religious girls shouldn’t have: to have lots of sex. But not with her future husband; with Israeli soldiers.
Determined to fulfill her dream, Chanshi travels to Israel to surprise her best friend, Noki, who is getting married soon. Once there, Chanshi will abandon herself to her desires to become the free and adventurous woman she was born to be. She is finally the master of her own life.
Chanshi’s creator, Aleeza Chanowitz, draws heavily on her own life experience as the screenwriter and protagonist of this unabashedly bold and nuanced series, along with directors Mickey Triest and Aaron Geva, who manage to deliver a bold affirmation of female sexual identity.
