Serielizados Fest premieres Little Bird this moving Canadian series that won the audience award at the last Séries Mania festival.
In the late 1960s, five-year-old Bezhig Little Bird is forcibly removed from the Long Pine reserve and adopted by a Jewish family in Montreal who rename her Esther Rosenblum. In her twenties, desperate to be reunited with her birth family, Bezhig travels to the Canadian prairies to unravel the mystery behind her adoption.
Directed by and starring an impressive team of indigenous creatives, this poignant series explores themes of identity, trauma and loss, while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit in finding the path to who we want to be.
Through the emotional story of Esther, who on the eve of her wedding tries to piece together her past, Little Bird addresses child abduction in 1960s Canada, when the government forcibly separated thousands of indigenous children from their families.
