We reveal the Filmin programming for the 12th annual Serielizados

Serielizados – Barcelona Series Festival announces its full lineup on Filmin, a selection of nearly thirty international titles premiering on the platform between November 10 and 23.

Filmin subscribers will once again enjoy exclusive access to the best series of the year, featuring their first episodes, carefully selected by the Serielizados programming team from a wide range of countries, genres, and acclaimed runs at prestigious festivals. All the series featured in the Panorama section will be available, offering a rich overview of the global TV landscape, along with short form series, docuseries, documentary films, and one title included in the International Official Competition section: A Life’s Worth.

As a new feature this year, the short form series and docuseries will be available in full.

A selection of the best series of the year

The Serielizados selection on Filmin includes series that have had remarkable runs at major international festivals. Viewers will be able to watch titles such as I Know Your Soul, by filmmaker Jasmila Žbanić, known for the film Quo Vadis, Aida? (Best Film at the European Film Awards and Oscar nominee for Best International Feature) and director of several episodes of The Last of Us. The series premiered at the Venice Film Festival and follows a prosecutor investigating the suicide of a teenager at her son’s school, only for the case to take a tragic turn when her own son is accused of abuse.

Also included in the selection is Frust, an incendiary series about a frustrated writer who accidentally kills a drug dealer. The series is directed by Bosnian filmmaker Danis Tanović, Oscar winner for No Man’s Land and director of other films such as Triage and Cirkus Columbia. Other highlights include 37 Secondes, winner of Best French Series at the latest Séries Mania Festival, a drama based on true events revisiting the mystery surrounding the sinking of a fishing boat; La vraie vie, an animated documentary in which a young actor questioning his profession accepts a new role as an avatar in an online video game; and Nepobaby, the new series co-created by Henriette Steenstrup, creator and star of Pørni, about a girl who discovers she is the heir to one of Norway’s richest dynasties.

Other series featuring big names include Sunny Nights, starring Will Forte (Saturday Night Live) and D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place) as two siblings trapped in Sydney’s criminal underworld; the Icelandic Felix & Klara, an ironic dramedy about two retirees, created and starred by Jón Gnarr, comedian, former mayor of Reykjavík and a long-time reference for Serielizados; the South Korean Family Matters, about an unconventional family using their special powers to deliver justice, starring Bae Doona (Sense8); and The Gold, a British series acquired by Filmin about one of the most significant criminal operations in history, featuring a stellar cast: Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Dominic Cooper (Preacher), Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible), Tom Cullen (Weekend) and Stefanie Martini (The Last Kingdom).

Filmin will also feature one of the series included in the International Official Competition section of the festival, the Swedish A Life’s Worth, a war drama about the moral dilemmas faced by UN Peacekeepers during the Bosnian War in 1993, and the high price of trying to maintain peace. A series that opens the door to an essential debate on one of Europe’s most violent recent conflicts, co-created by journalist and screenwriter Mona Masri, who has contributed to series such as Snabba Cash and Copenhagen Cowboy by Nicolas Winding Refn.

Documentary films on pop culture and complete docuseries

As usual, Serielizados – Barcelona Series Festival also includes feature-length documentaries related to television, pop culture and the media. One of them is Casa Bonita, My Love!, a film exploring the story of an iconic Mexican restaurant in the United States that became a pop culture myth thanks to South Park and its eccentric aesthetics. When the show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, discover it might close, they decide to save and restore it.

Another highlight is Inside No. 9: The Party’s Over. The legendary British comedy Inside No. 9 bids farewell with this documentary taking us behind the scenes of the series in a fascinating journey through its creative process. Its creators and stars, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, open the doors to their creative world, showing how some of the most innovative episodes in British television were conceived, from early ideas to wardrobe, music, effects, and scene planning.

As for docuseries, Filmin will exclusively premiere the complete Norwegian series The Agent – The Life and Lies of My Father, one of the sensations of the season and winner of Best Docuseries at Cannes Séries 2025. The show begins with a father’s mysterious confession to his son: “I’m a secret agent.” This childhood memory sparks a fascinating family investigation that uncovers a life full of secrets and lies. Also available in full is The Black Swan, now the most-watched documentary series in Denmark’s history, a tense portrait of organized crime and a reflection on betrayal and the limits of journalism. It is the latest work from Mads Brügger, director of one of Filmin’s most acclaimed docuseries: The Mole.

Another standout title is the drama based on true events Los años heridos, about a student who discovers her family’s dark past when she learns she was a baby kidnapped during Mexico’s Dirty War. The series revisits the brutal repression against dissidents in the country (kidnappings, torture, and disappearances) between the 1950s and 1980s, blending fiction, animation, archival footage, and real testimonies.

Short Form Series: full seasons of the best short shows

The festival will also offer on Filmin three of the year’s best short form series, with their first seasons available in full: Chef d’orchestre, One of Us is Trembling and T-Rex.

In Chef d’orchestre, a musician who has spent 20 years serving others dreams of releasing his first solo album. Unfortunately, he’s paralyzed by a recent breakup. From Quebec comes this slice-of-life comedy with surreal and existential undertones, reminiscent of the humor of Larry David, Tim & Eric, or Nathan Fielder.

The Danish One of Us is Trembling traces the story of a young couple with both rawness and tenderness: from the thrill of their first encounter to the passion and pain that define their love story. Meanwhile, T-Rex follows three childhood friends as they explore masculinity. During a weekend at a cabin, their dynamics are tested as they become entangled in a tense game of ego and power.

More standout series

The selection is rounded out by more internationally acclaimed titles. In the Quebecois Bellflower, the reunion of a comedian and his lifelong friends forms a sincere and ensemble portrait of modern masculinity, featuring Marc-André Grondin (C.R.A.Z.Y., The Successor). The Belgian How to Kill Your Sister centers on two estranged sisters embarking on a road trip to face the terminal illness of one of them. In Repo, a mobster haunted by his past leaves organized crime after learning he’s going to be a father, in a story echoing Animal Kingdom.

Thriller fans will find excitement in the gripping Or blanc, from Canal+ Africa, set in an Ivorian city shaken by a child’s disappearance and a series of ritual murders. Family dynamics also take center stage in Vanguard, one of Sweden’s most notable series of the year: a biopic based on the real life of Jan Stenbeck, a telecommunications pioneer and one of the country’s most controversial figures.

Finally, audiences can also watch Black Fruit (Germany), one of the year’s standout queer dramedies, reminiscent of Looking; N00b (New Zealand), a totally irreverent teen comedy set in the 2000s, full of pop nostalgia and centered on a boy who loses his popularity after being outed; and No Big Deal (Czech Republic), a dramedy with satirical tones exploring the intimate life of a couple when the woman decides to join OnlyFans.
