Within three months of closing 2019, the International Series Festival doubles viewers over the previous year, setting a new record for attendance: 8,600 people, between Serielizados Fest Barcelona, Serielizados Fest Madrid and the new continuing programming section Serielizados Fest Premieres, which started in January 2019.
A total of 4,800 viewers attended the Barcelona edition, between professional and academic sessions, series premieres, conferences and talks of national and international talent, Pilots Showcase, etc., increasing the 2018 records by 20%, the year that Serielizados Fest Barcelona had Vince Gilligan as its main guest.
The 2019 Serielizados Fest Barcelona sessions with more public have been:
- Tribute to ‘Plats Bruts‘
- ‘Bullets‘ inauguration
- Seriefobia Live with Berto Romero
- Worldwide premiere of ‘Inside No. 9‘ with Steve Pemberton
- ‘La Casa de Papel: How to set up a heist‘
Serielizados Fest Madrid was very well received by the public and specialized critics. In this first edition, 2,000 spectators attended a total of 13 sessions, with ‘Fotogramas presenta… Élite‘ being the most attended, followed by ‘La Casa de Papel: How to set up a heist‘.
Last January the festival opened continuous programming throughout the year with its new section Serielizados Fest Premieres, which brings the best premieres from the main platforms to theaters. This 2019, a pilot year for this pioneering initiative, Premieres has premiered five fictions: ‘True Detective 3‘, ‘What we do in the shadows‘ and ‘El Pionero‘ (HBO); ‘Absentia 2′ (AXN); and ‘The Boys‘ (Amazon), with a total of 1,800 viewers, and an average of 350 per premiere.
In the coming days the organization will announce the Premieres scheduled for the last months of the year (and there will be surprises). This does not stop… Stay tuned!
