Jesse Armstrong, creator of ‘Succession’, will be the international guest of the tenth edition of Serielizados Fest.

Serielizados Fest and Spain Film Commission will bring Jesse Armstrong to Barcelona and Madrid.

The British creator, showrunner of Succession, will be the international guest of the tenth edition of Serielizados Fest, with the support of the Spain Film Commission. Jesse Armstrong will visit both cities as the festival’s main international guest.

In Barcelona he will offer a conversation open to general audiences where he will talk about his career and the process behind the success of Succession, which recently ended its run on HBO. Meanwhile, in Madrid, Armstrong will give a masterclass for professionals and students of the industry. 

Before his worldwide recognition with Succession, Jesse Armstrong’s career was highlighted by his Oscar nomination for best original screenplay for Three Lions and for his work in British television. Amongst his most prominent work at the time, there’s his run as screenwriter on Armando Ianucci’s cult series The Thick of it and its feature-length spin-off In the Loop.

Prior to that, Armstrong co-created, along with Andrew O’Connor and Sam Bain, the comedy series Peep Show and Fresh Meat and wrote the screenplay for the Black Mirror episode titled ‘The Entire History of You’. Later, Jesse Armstrong signed with HBO, where he developed Succession and turned it into the landmark title it is today. For his work on the series he has won 5 Emmy Awards so far.

Serielizados Fest Barcelona, will take place from October 17 to 21, 2023 at CCCB, Sala Phenomena, CASA SEAT and the Auditorium of the Facultat de Comunicació i Relacions Internacionals Blanquerna-URL.

While from October 24 to 28 the Serielizados Fest Madrid will be held at Cine Estudio del Círculo de Bellas Artes, Cinesa Proyecciones and Academia de Cine.

Moreover, the online edition of Serielizados Fest will continue for a third year with its premiere programming of international series unreleased in Spain at the streaming platform FILMIN from October, 17 to 29. 

In the coming weeks the festival will release more details about the activities of the festival and the lineup of series of its tenth edition.
