Soye is a passionate and highly qualified psychologist who decides to open a practice in a working-class neighborhood of Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Raised in a religious and traditional environment, Soye decided to become a psychologist to denounce violence, excluding any mysticism in her professional approach. Paradoxically, clients start coming to her after she solves a case with “mystical” overtones, believing that “witchcraft” can cure their emotional ailments.

While her professional life finally seems to be improving, her personal life is not. Nearing 40, Soye still has no children, which is unacceptable to her mother-in-law, making her a victim of the societal pressure that takes her body hostage: it can only be “her fault”…
