Serielizados Fest exclusively presents the second episode of ¿QUÉ MIRAS?, the first documentary series of PHotoESPAÑA, produced by La Fábrica and CaixaForum+, in collaboration with Magnum Photos.
¿QUÉ MIRAS? is the first documentary series of PHotoESPAÑA aimed at teaching how to read images through the experience, voice, and example of artists and professionals. Focusing on the major issues affecting today’s society, the series invites us to look with attention and curiosity, to dare to analyze, deduce, formulate, and imagine in order to enhance our capacity for understanding and visual expression.
Created from an original idea by María Santoyo, director of PHotoESPAÑA, the series features collaboration from Magnum Photos and a cast of great photographers and visual artists such as Joan Fontcuberta, Paloma Navares, Alexander Apóstol, Emilio Morenatti, and Tanit Plana. The narration is provided by actress Carolina Yuste.
The series, aimed at all audiences, with special attention to adolescent and youth audiences, seeks to promote knowledge of visual language through testimonies, analyses, and reflections from those who create images, those who work with them, or those who consume them.
The second episode, titled NAKED, will be screened, which discusses the nude, particularly female, as a classic genre that photography inherited from painting. An episode about the representation of the body and how the female condition has been subject to stereotypes that still persist today. Is it possible to de-eroticize the image of the female body? Can photography represent intimacy beyond voyeurism? Can it penetrate the skin to express emotions? This episode features multimedia artist Paloma Navares and experts Agnès López-Río, Greta Felici, and Mario Obrero.
Screening of the second episode, with the presence of Emilio Morenatti, Tanit Plana, and María Santoyo.
Approximate duration of the session: 90 minutes.
