Jean Dujardin returns to his comic origins with Zorro, a new adaptation of the classic adventure hero, reinvented this time with a French touch.

Serielizados Fest 2024 is pleased to bring you the exclusive international premiere of the French series Zorro. Yes, you read that right, French. Don Diego de la Vega is now French and he is also played by the only guy on par with the classic swashbuckler Douglas Fairbanks: the Oscar-winning Jean Dujardin.

Let’s make things clear: this new adaptation of the adventures of the avenger with the mask and thin mustache does NOT trades its setting to the french country. The story is still set in California under Spanish rule and revolves around the well-known adventures of Don Diego de la Vega (aka “El Zorro”) fighting against local caciques and helping the poor peasants of his land. Unlike his predecessors, this new Zorro has been out of action for some time, being forced to recover his cape and sword and his esteemed horse Tornado to dispense justice, even if his fifty-something body is no match for him.

Despite the bizarre nature of the series, Zorro manages to recover the more adventurous and pulp spirit of the original stories. Of course, with a touch of french humor that brings back the most slapstick and funny Dujardin since his roles in the parody sagas OSS 117 or Lucky Luke. A fresh reinvention that moves with cunning and self-awareness among the contradictions of a classic character from another distant era. Alongside Jean Dujardin, the series features familiar faces from French cinema such as André Dussollier, Audrey Dana, Grégory Gadebois and Éric Elmosnino.
