Masterclass ECAM with director Thomas Vinterberg

Sections Masterclass

The Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg will offer a masterclass moderated by Clara Roquet in which he will talk about his latest work, the series ‘Families Like Ours’, and his career. Session in collaboration with ECAM.

Thomas Vinterberg, outstanding international guest of the 11th edition of Serielizados Fest, will offer a masterclass included in the PRO section with ECAM‘s collaboration. The Danish filmmaker will talk about his long career and the creation process of his latest work, the series Families Like Ours, which premieres exclusively in Spain at the festival and which will be available on Movistar Plus+ starting in November.

Vinterberg became internationally known within the Dogma movement with a film as fundamental as The Celebration (1998). Later he also stood out with titles such as Dear Wendy (2005), Submarino (2010), The Hunt (2012), The Commune (2016), Kursk (2018) or Another Round (2020), with which he won the Oscar for Best International Film.

Families Like Ours is his first foray into the world of series. It is a fiction set in Denmark, in the near future, in which the country has to be evacuated due to severe flooding. A family drama and at the same time a survival story about a country forced to say goodbye to its homeland.

The masterclass will be moderated by filmmaker Clara Roquet, creator of the series Past Lies (2024), director of the film Libertad (2021), and screenwriter on films such as 10,000 Km (2014), The Days to Come (2019), Creatura (2023) or the series Galgos (2024).

This session is part of the PRO section of the festival and can be accessed with the PRO pass.
