Serielizados Fest premieres this atypical biopic with touches of humor about the life of Franz Kafka just as it marks the 100th anniversary of the writer’s death.
Director and screenwriter David Schalko (Old Money, M – A City Hunts a Murderer) and best-selling author Daniel Kehlmann join forces to delve into the life and work of Franz Kafka in this series that surprises for its off-the-wall humor and, at the same time, for the rigor with which it approaches the figure of one of the key writer of the 20th century. Thus, we learn about Kafka’s love affairs with Felice Bauer, Milena Jesenska and Dora Diamant, his difficult relationship with his tyrannical father and also his close friendship with Max Brod, the great architect of his recognition as an author.
Swiss actor Joel Basman stands out as Franz Kafka in this coral biopic with appearances of Christian Friedel (star of The Zone of Interest) or the indefatigable Lars Eidinger, recently seen in the miniseries Irma Vep or All the Light We Cannot See.
