This Australian series follows a prominent Iraqi family living in Sydney as they face their new status of power and influence. When the progressive Sheikh Mohammad is elected chief cleric of the mosque in a surprising victory, he begins to unfold his vision of a modern Islam among his followers.
But as his great ambitions come to fruition, his close ones start to wonder if he is acting solely for the common good or if he is intoxicated by power. A story about faith, family, secrets, and lies that explores the great personal cost of ambition. House of Gods is a vibrant prestige series that won the best actor award for Kamel El Basha, during its screening at the Séries Mania festival, last March 2024.
