Robyn Malcolm and Peter Mullan (‘Top of the Lake’) stars in this riveting New Zealand series about a woman who loses everything when she accuses her husband of a sex crime.

Middle-aged high school teacher Penny’s life is upended when she accuses her husband Phil of a sex crime against her daughter Grace’s teenage friend, and no one believes her. Five years later, the man returns to New Zealand and moves in with Grace and her grandson, reopening wounds that had seemed closed. Relentless to prove his guilt again, an increasingly alienated Penny will be forced to choose what is more important: the truth or her relationship with her daughter.

Robyn Malcolm won the award for best actress in the International Panorama section of the Séries Mania Festival thanks to this role of an anti-heroine willing to do anything, reminiscent of Frances McDormand in Olive Kitteridge or Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown. A series about the weight of truth, created by herself and screenwriter Dianne Taylor, which has become one of the sensations of the year.
