Serielizados Fest presents the poster for its 11th edition

We are celebrating! Our eleventh edition is coming and we face it with great enthusiasm and very good news.

Over the last eleven years, SERIELIZADOS has become a reference in the analysis, dissemination and promotion of the most important stories and creators of serialized fiction. Our goal has always been to create a meeting place for creators, producers, academics and fans of the series to talk and share their ideas (and vices).

After last year’s success, with more than 10,000 attendees in all its venues and a record of more than 200,000 views on Filmin, Serielizados Fest begins to launch its 11th edition presenting the line-up and announcing dates and news. This year, the International Series Festival will take place in Barcelona from October 14 to 23, and will maintain its online window on Filmin between the 15th and 27th of the same month.

Main news

Among the new features are the incorporation of a new on-site venue, Espai Texas, in addition to the usual spaces (CCCB, Sala Phenomena Experience and Casa SEAT), as well as the creation of a new national competitive section. Within this section, Spanish premiere series from the main platforms will participate, with the awarding of the following prizes: best national series, best script and best cast. All screenings of the national competitive section will take place at the Phenomena and the CCCB Theater.

We will soon announce the series that will participate (between five and six titles), but for the moment we can already tell you the members of the Jury that will decide the awards:

• Carlo Fasino. Programmer of the Series Mania Festival in Lille, France. One of the most important series festivals in Europe.
• Luci Lenox. Irish casting director based in Barcelona. She has worked in more than a hundred productions. Highlights include the series The Crown, Mrs. Davis and Sexy Beast.
• Santiago Vaca Narvaja. Argentine actor. Among his credits, it is worth mentioning his role in the film Society of the Snow, by J. A. Bayona.

On the other hand, the festival maintains its commitment to foreign serialized fiction, again with an international competitive section that will also include five or six titles. The Jury that will decide the awards of this section (best international series, script and cast) is as follows:

• Aina Clotet. Creator, director, screenwriter and star of Això no és Suècia, inaugural series of Serielizados Fest 2023. As an actress, she has participated in series such as El cuerpo en llamas, Cites Barcelona, Hierro, Infieles or El cor de la ciutat.
• Lourdes Iglesias. Creator and screenwriter of the Cristóbal Balenciaga series. In her career she has also participated as a screenwriter in several film productions.
• Diego San José. Screenwriter and creator of series such as Vota Juan (and its sequels) or the upcoming Celeste. He began his career in the program Vaya semanita and has also participated as a screenwriter in several films.

The series that will participate in the international competitive section will be screened in person at the Espai Texas and will also be available online at Filmin. In addition, about forty more titles that will be part of the international Panorama (dedicated to fiction) and Documentary sections will be screened on the platform, which will be announced later.

The on-site program, as always, will be completed with master classes, meetings and talks with creators and screenwriters, international guests, series showcases, special sessions and exclusive premieres of new series, in collaboration with the main platforms and networks in the country. During the month of September, we will announce the complete program of the festival.

The poster of the 11th edition of Serielizados Fest wants to highlight the pioneering nature of the festival, which began in 2014 as the first series festival in Spain and, since then, has remained one of the benchmarks at European level.

During all its editions, Serielizados Fest has been attended by such prominent names in the world of series as Dan Harmon, creator of Community and Rick and Morty; David Simon, creator of The Wire, Treme and The Deuce; Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad; Steve Pemberton, creator and star of Inside No. 9; Damon Lindelof, creator of The Leftovers, Watchmen and Lost; Jesse Armstrong, creator of Succession; Tony Grisoni, Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli and Ludovica Rampoldi, creators and creators of Gomorra and The Young Pope; Jeppe Gjervig, creator of Borgen; Paul Abbott, creator of Shameless; Sally Wainwright, creator of Happy Valley; Joe Penhall, creator of Mindhunter; or filmmaker Werner Herzog, among many other showrunners, reaching more than 350 guests and invited guests since 2014.

Serielizados Fest has also premiered more than 300 titles, some of them as outstanding as The White Lotus (season 2), La ruta, Cardo, Dopesick, Fear the Walking Dead, La amiga estupenda, Exterior Noche, True Detective (season 2), What We Do In The Shadows, The Boys, We Are Lady Parts or Transparent, among many others.
