El Serielizados Fest anuncia novedades importantes en Series Mania

Last Wednesday, March 20th at the Salon Rouge of the Grand Palais in Lille, where Series Mania Forum was being celebrated, took place the event ‘Catalunya Loves Series’ where the festival Serielizados Fest had the opportunity to present to the audience the new features of the 2024 edition and announce the launch of the Open Call for the registration of series that want to be selected.

This new Open Call has a very clear slogan: “We’re looking for the good stuff”. As has been the hallmark of the festival throughout its eleven years of history, the quality of the series programmed speaks for itself.

This current Open Call will be effective from March 20 to June 28 and will be used to register all those series projects and documentary films related to the world of series that want to be selected by the festival’s programming committee. Applications will be accepted for the following sections: International Competition, National Competition, International Panorama, Short Form and Documentary Film.

To participate, all you need to do is fill out this form with the different criteria and information required to participate in the first international series festival in Spain, which will take place from October 15 to 20, 2024.

New sections and awards

At the presentation ceremony at Series Mania, the co-directors of Serielizados Fest, Betu Martínez and Víctor Sala announced the creation of a new section in the festival: National Competition. This is the main novelty in the organization of the eleventh Serielizados Fest, a section where between 5 and 10 Spanish series will be selected to compete for different prizes.

The official awards section is another new feature of the Serielizados Fest, as this year 2024 the number of prizes awarded by the different juries will be increased, reaching a total of 8 awards, divided according to the sections and types of jury:

• International Competition – Jury Awards: Awarded by a jury of industry professionals from different fields and backgrounds, such as screenwriters and showrunners, actors and actresses, specialized journalists or producers and distributors, on the series that make up the International Official Selection.

  • Best script
• National Competition – Jury Awards: Awarded by a jury composed by industry professionals from different fields and backgrounds, such as screenwriters and showrunners, actors and actresses, specialized journalists or producers and distributors, on the series that make up the National Official Selection.
  • Best series

  • Best script

• Young Jury Award: Awarded by a jury formed by students that will watch one of the competitive sections of the Festival and grant the Young Jury Award to the best series of that section.
• Audience Award: Awarded through popular vote by the audience attending the live screening of the competitive sections.
